Washington Adventure Elopement Locations
As mentioned above, there are many places to have your perfect Washington elopement. Because of this, my first piece of advise is to hire your Washington elopement photographer (hint, hint!) as they will have the knowledge and expertise to find your perfect wedding location.
Here are some places to have your Washington elopement:
Washington Mountain Elopement Locations
North Cascades National Park
Great for a late summer and early fall elopement
Because this area is so vast, there are many places within the North Cascades to elope. If you’d like to learn more about eloping in the North Cascades, check out this guide for Artist Point
Mount Rainier National Park
Great for a mid summer-early fall elopement
With fire look outs, easy and challenging routes with Mt. Tahoma surrounding the landscape, this place is absolutely perfect for an elopement. This area is a great place if you are looking for mountain wildflowers to be there for your elopement!
Olympic National Park
Great for a spring and summer elopement
ONP is quite diverse, you can really have the best of everything here. One of the most common places for an elopement with a mountain views is Hurricane Ridge. Hurricane Ridge is a highly accessible location with a stunning 360 views of the Olympic mountains. This place is absolutely magical during sunset, I highly recommend it! Washington Coast and Lakeside Elopement Locations
Rialto Beach
Rialto beach, located in Olympic National Park, is one of my favorite elopement locations! You are a one mile hike away from one of the most beautiful coastal beaches in Washington! With tall rocks and boulders scattered throughout the coast, lush forests hugging the sea, it is obvious why it is such a magical elopement location. Because it is so gorgeous, it does attract a lot of visitors. Because of this, the best time to elope at Rialto beach is at sunset during a weekday to beat the crowds.
Ruby Beach
Ruby Beach, also found in Olympic National Park is a highly accessible beach. Just a very short walk from the parking lot is needed to find a gem of a beach! It is no wonder why it is such a sought after place to elope in Washington.
Second Beach
Just a short drive from Forks is Second Beach, a less trafficked yet just as gorgeous coastal Washington beach. A gentle 2 mile hike down to the beach will bring you to this beautiful oasis. Like all Washington coastal beaches, you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful sunset, so I highly recommend you elope here during sunset.
Lake Crescent
You’ll be sure to pass this massive and magnificent lake on your way out to the northern Washington coastal locations mentioned above. Lake Crescent is a perfect place for a year-round elopement. This location is also very accessible so if you’re looking for an easy to reach location and be rewarded with immense beauty, then this is your place. Best Time to Elope in Washington
Washington is known for the rain and the grey, but contrary to popular belief, Washington has one of the best summers in the US. Therefore, the best time to elope in Washington State is during the summer. That is not to say you can’t elope any other time of the year! Here is a broad outline on the best times to elope in Washington:
Winter Washington Elopement (mid November to March)
Although the weather may be unpredictable and possibly rainy, a winter elopement in Washington is absolutely magical. You can drive a couple hours to the mountains and have a snowy elopement. Do you want to ski with your partner on your wedding day? Amazing, consider eloping in the winter time. If snow isn’t your thing, no worries you can always stay local and consider eloping closer to town. Washington state parks are both beautiful and free of snow for most part of the year.
Spring Washington Elopement (early April to early June)
The snow will be starting to melt during this time up in the mountains and the cherry blossoms around the city will begin to pop during this time. Although there is a chance of rain during this time, the location options will have expanded. Consider eloping on the coast, or around the Olympic National Park area. Some areas around Mt. Rainier are open year round and will have started to open as well.
Summer Washington Elopement (mid June-early September)
Having a summer Washington elopement is a no brainer. This time has all 3 Washington National Parks open and the wildflowers will be blooming throughout. This is the best time to elope, which opens the doors for all sorts of places to elope in. Consider a Washington mountain elopement during the summer as you will have views like no other! Do keep in mind the locations will be busy so it will be important to consider a sunrise or sunset elopement time to beat the crowds and have the mountains to yourselves.
Fall Washington Elopement (Late September to early November)
This time of the year is one that has grown in popularity. As families return back to the school day routine, there are less crowds on the very popular elopement locations. The mountains will still be open and may be accumulating a bit of snow towards the end but is still a magical time to elope in. If you are in love with the fall colors and even want to elope during Larch season at the North Cascades, consider having a Fall Washington elopement!
