Sounds like I shouldn’t say that, right?

Posing for the perfect photo is overrated. I prioritize your experience above everything else, resulting in photos full of raw emotion and real, heartfelt moments.

Your experience matters. And it starts before your wedding day.

I help create all-inclusive elopements for couples who what to elope in Washington without dealing with the stress of planning a wedding.

So you can show up to your wedding, with your minds and hearts at ease, and be fully present in experiencing your dream wedding day!

About Your Washington Elopement Photographer

Hi! My name is Doug, your professional third wheel and new adventure buddy.

As a former special education teacher, I learned a thing or two about building connections, fostering trust, and making new friends with others.

I won’t be a stranger during your wedding experience, I’ll be a friend you can feel relaxed, comfortable, and safe to be yourselves around.

Growing up with the Washington State mountains as my playground, I developed a strong attachment to the PNW and a love for the people who choose to lose themselves in it.

“Doug is a phenomenal photographer whom not only takes amazing photos but also took very good care of us during our session. He made our whole experience so smooth and stress free! The best part was that he gave us our time during our session to enjoy the scenery and time to ourselves. He went out of his way to make sure we had the best out of our elopement. We highly recommend Doug as an elopement photographer.”

I’LL DO ALL THE WORK FOR YOU.

Imagine the freedom of having a wedding that is about you and doing something authentic, all while not having to worry about ANY of the planning or stress leading up to that moment.

Here’s how I make it happen:

1. We get to know each other to truly understand your vision and learn more about your dream wedding day

2. Research and location scout the perfect elopement location based on your dreams wedding spot

3. Research and get quotes from lodging options in the area. Help with airport recommendations, reservations. You name it, and I’ll help you!

4. Provide trusted local elopement vendor recommendations, help you by reaching out to them and obtaining quotes

5. Provide all-day support, frequent zoom meetings, and check in texts leading up to your wedding day so you have nothing to stress about

6. Create a personalized timeline for your wedding day so you don’t have to worry about a thing and can just enjoy each other

7. Capture and document your day in a way that focuses on your experience without sacrificing stunning photos

Experience First. Photos Second.

Instead of spending all day non-stop posing, creating fake intimate moments to get “that perfect shot”, I prioritize your experience above everything else.

Because what I DO want to capture are these moments:

  • When you say something silly to your partner

  • When you start to ugly cry during your vows

  • When you open up and get to be yourselves as you enjoy the scenery together.

Photos full of raw emotions that you can’t help but feel the moment that was captured.

By putting your experience first and photos second, I will be able to capture those magical, perfectly captured moments.

From Someone Who Also Chose to Elope in Washington:

Deception Pass elopement with dogs

I broke the rules too and chose to elope instead.

With just 9 months left to our wedding day, we cancelled our 250 guest wedding and chose to elope instead.

We broke away from what we felt society expected from us and were “supposed to have” for our wedding.

We camped, hiked, had our dogs join, drank endless mimosas, and even took a nap. It was absolutely perfect.

More Kind Words

  • "Doug was a great photographer. Not only is his work amazing but he was a huge help from the moment we decided to hire him and he has great knowledge of the area. We received a sneak peak within the first few days and our full album even before the time frame that was communicated, which we were ecstatic about and they all came out great! We, also, loved how personal he was and would recommend him, especially for anyone looking to elope!"
