Top 5 Locations to get Engagement Photos in Seattle

Here are the top 5 best locations to get your engagement photos in Seattle:

1) Discovery Park

Discovery Park is my absolute favorite location to get engagement photos done in Seattle. Within this park you can get so many mini locations to get lots of photos in various settings. You can choose some or all of the following spots at Discovery Park: open fields, lighthouse, stunning cliffs, views of the sound, and lush trees, and endless hiking trails. If you want to see a fun, fall engagement photoshoot I did here, click me!

2) Golden Gardens

Just a quick drive across the Ballard Bridge, you’ll find along the coast one Seattle’s most popular beaches! Golden Gardens is known for its breathtaking sunsets. In this location, you can explore some hidden trails, explore old bridges and tunnels, and walk along the sandy beach. As a bonus, Golden Gardens is close to the Shilshole Bay Marina, so if you want some unique sailboat engagement photos, this area is definitely worth checking out.

3) Aboard the Washington State Ferry

Who said ferries are just for commuting? Hoping on one of Washington’s ferries and going for an adventure can be a fun and unique way to get some stunning engagement photos in Seattle. Especially if you capture downtown as you coast across to Bainbridge Island. To save on the hastle, I recommend parking and walking onto the ferry. Once across, you can get some coffee in Bainbridge or go shopping at some local boutique stores before heading back.

4) Downtown Seattle

There is something to be said about downtown Seattle! If you want to explore some of Seattle’s famous coffee shops, watch the fish fly at Pike Place Market, or find a fun building to be in front of, trust me you’ll find your gem in this city! Don’t forget about our Waterfront where you’ll be rewarded with some fish and chips and maybe some unique thrift stores along the way.

5) UW Arboretum

The UW Arboretum is another great place to get your engagement photos taken in Seattle. Whether you’re looking to get your photos taken during their famous cherry blossom season in spring, or while fall goes into full effect later in the year, this area stays beautiful year-round! There is a beautiful Japanese garden here as well as lots of stunning landscaping that would make a beautiful backdrop for your engagement photos.

Engagement Locations Outside of Seattle but Worth Mentioning

1) Olympic National Park

Olympic National Park is located on the Northwest section of Washington but if you’re willing to make the trek to the Olympic Coast, this is my favorite location for engagement photos! If you want ferns as big as a baby dinosaur and want unforgettable sunsets on the Washington coast, getting engagement photos here will ensure you have one-of-a-kind photos and an unforgettable experience getting them taken! Check out more photos from this incredible sunset Olympic National Park engagement session!

2) Mount Rainier National Park

Although you can see “The Mountain” just anywhere from Seattle, you’ll have to be willing to drive a couple of hours to get to the park. But once there, you’ll be rewarded with incredible views of Mt Rainier, beautiful alpine trees and alpine lakes that will make your wedding guests be in awe of your engagement photos! You can check out this beautiful sunrise Mt Rainier engagement at Tipsoo Lake for more inspiration!

3) Rattlesnake Lake in Snoqualmie

This location is only about 45 minutes from Seattle but is another beautiful location where you can be surrounded by tall evergreens and overlook an incredible lake! This is one of Washington’s most popular hiking spots, so I highly recommend going during sunrise, sunset, or even better, during the weekday!
