Ferry Boat Wedding Venue Seattle

As mentioned above, Washington state has approximately 21 ferries you can take. Whether you want your background and landscape to showcase the Seattle skyline, or the Olympic Cascades there are many places to have a ferry boat wedding. Some of the more popular ferries include the downtown Seattle to Bainbridge Island ferry, or the Anacortes to Orcas, Friday Harbor, or Lopez Island.

Some things to consider for your ferry boat wedding is the amount of time you want to be on the ferry. For example, the Downtown Seattle to Bainbridge ferry is about 30 minutes. Any ferry boat ride leaving Anacortes is at least an hour.

In addition, consider what you want to do after your ferry boat wedding ceremony as you arrive into the Washington Island of your choice. There are many local towns that are within walking distance of the ferry terminal, but some require a car to reach those hidden gems.

Last, do some research to see if reservations in advance is needed. If you are looking to have a summer ferry boat wedding in Washington, keep in mind that some ferries are very popular and require car reservations in advance, some even 3-6 months in advance. However, if you’re thinking of walking onto the ferry or having a bikepacking elopement, you don’t need to worry about ferry reservations. Simply walk up to the booth about an hour before you wish to depart and purchase a ticket.
